Peanut Ladoo- Quick & Easy Indian Sweet

Surrounded by lots of fun, food and frolic, the festive season in India is that time off the year we eagerly wait for. In the midst of it is lots of colour, smiles and liveliness. But that also goes hand in hand with great amount of serious work- called as cleaning and cooking! The customary Diwali cleaning that starts as soon as Dussehra is over (story of every middle class family) is one hectic part. And to go with it is all the cooking of various mithais(Indian desserts) and other fancy delicacies. Trust me Indian food is not that easy to make (unless you are born with skills from your grandmother).

But dont worry, just because its difficult we wont be stop. We find new things and new ways to make back breaking tasks easier and in the process tastier too. And in that journey of mine I made these insanely easy PEANUT LADOOS. It has only 3 ingredients and 3 steps. Yup! Its that simple! And all of whom who tasted it, had only praises and wanted more.

PEANUT LADOO

INGREDIENTS

Peanuts                                      1 cup
Gur (Dark Jaggery)                    1/2 cup
Ghee                                          2tbsp

METHOD

  1. Dry roast the peanuts and remove their cover(if not already removed). Grind them to make a powder. You can also keep it partly ground in small pieces as it brings a totally different yet amazing texture to the ladoo. Just like Peanut chikki.
  2. Melt the jaggery in a suacepan using 1tsp water.
  3. Now pour the hot melted jagger tot he peanut powder. Carefully roll them into ladoos (spheres). Make sure its not hot enough to burn your hands but only to take shape.
And ladoos are ready to be munched on in no time. It can't be easier than this. Do try them and let me know any variations that your experimental mind could think of.

    1. Thanks, glad you liked it. And yes healthy lifestyle is very important today and it always starts with a sumptuous breakfast. Millets are great, but I haven't really got a good recipe for it till date.
