Spiced Buttermilk (Masala Chaach)- Indian Summer Cooler

Buttermilk is an integral part of summer life here in India. We have it in all forms- light, thick, sweet, sour and spicy. Its one of the best thirst quenchers and you can literally find it every nook and corner of the streets. And I have to say there are places where you can find amazing varieties of sweet buttermilk called "Meethi Lassi" and I am a big fan of it.
I remember how we used to pester our grandma to make it everyday when we came back from school and she used to make it with so many flavours- Rose, Almond, Mango, etc.

And so I felt, this very famous and yet one of the easiest summer cooler has to be my first Summer Cooler post (of a series I want to build). Its so easy to make at home and not saying that its anywhere near to what our mothers make at home (it has the added ingredient of love), the one that I made was quick and super yummy. Also, its really healthy and has calories as low as 40. (Yay for the health conscious peeps)

If you haven't tried making it yourself till now, go ahead today and try it out. I'm sure it will turn out really good and your entire family will love it. Sweet or spicy whatever your taste may be, Buttermilk (Lassi) is everyone's favourite.

Find the recipe below to the spicy, Masala Buttermilk I made. You can try other flavours too and let me know your experience.

I will surely put recipes for more flavours this season. So stay tuned and let me know your favourite flavour in comments below.
