Eggless Cinnamon & Green Apple Waffles- Best ever homemade waffles
They say you are what you eat!
So I eat waffles. They are like pancakes with abs!!
Whoever said this, knows me in and out. Like seriously, waffles are something I cant get enough of these days. It hasn't been very long that waffles has become mainstream here in India and I suppose its still very limited to metropolitan cities. We never had this now very famous breakfast dish and boy we were surely missing out on something. You can find waffles now at every café here in Delhi and in every flavour that you can possibly imagine. People are going really creative over them.
And ofcourse, not one to be far behind, I had to try one at home. And realised how easy they are to make, I have found another love of my life. All you need is a good recipe, practice a few times to ace the game (although they come out pretty decent in the first attempt itself) and a love for anything that looks chequered and can have various toppings.
I made these amazing EGGLESS CINNAMON GREEN APPLE WAFFLE as my first time of making a waffle. And my food tasters (read mom, dad, sis and girl friends next door) had hearts popping up in their eyes, literally! All they wanted was more of it. And I'm so happy to share the recipe with you all because I want you to make your loved ones happier with these quick and easy eggless waffles. All you need is a waffle maker (invest in one, its for a lifetime) and the recipe below.
I am definitely going to make more flavour combinations, and would love tp know suggestions of which flavours you would like to see.

METHOD
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl- flours, cinnamon and powdered sugar.- In another bowl mix the yogurt, baking soda and baking powder, Leave for a min and let it rise.
- Now mix this into the dry ingredients and keep adding oil simultaneously while mixing all of it together. Also put in the essence. (Check tip no. 1 below for consistency)
- Pre heat the waffle maker as per directions of lights on the box for the machine.
- Now brush the heated waffle maker with butter on both sides.
- Pour one scoop of waffle batter on it and spread evenly.
- Close the waffle maker and let it cook till the light turns green (or the colour as per your machine/ model)
- Check if the waffles are cooked well before removing carefully with a spatula.
- While serving, put one scoop of ice cream on top of the waffle. Slice the green apples into thin slices and add them as topping. Drizzle honey on top of it and you can also put some chopped nuts.
TIPS
- The consistency for the waffle batter should preferably be not very thin but more of a thick yet dripping level.
- You can check if the waffles are cooked just by doing the fork test/ toothpick test. Put in a small toothpick and it should come out dry.
- To make the waffles nice and crispy (that's how I like)- you can bake it at 120C for 5 min once its cooked on a baking rack directly and then serve.
I'll soon do a waffles Tips & Tricks post, so stay tuned for more!
