Cardamom Rose Latte with Home of Spices

Weekends or weekdays, hot coffee is a mandate in winters in Delhi. Dropping temperatures can only be dealt with a mug of steaming coffee and some hot vegetable fritters (pakoras) and sweet gajak & revadi to go with it. And what better than a sweetly spiced, beautifully textured rose flavoured latte.

Let me tell you, its a sure shot recipe for comfort and taste. But it all comes from the best of ingredients and lots of love, like I always say. Using real rose petals (edible) and infused with the best Cardamom from the Home of Spices, whom I have been praising a lot these days. And why not, I mean when the aroma itself of the spice is so scintillating, it just makes the recipe even more flavourful. And if you haven't considered including Cardamom in your Diet, then you should read my last post to know how beneficial it is. And I am using all the spices from Home of Spices, who are a Kerala based farmers initiative growing pure and organic spices, delivering best in quality spices to your home from Amazon. The recipe for this beautiful sounding, tasting and amazingly flavourful CARDAMOM ROSE LATTE is down below.

CARDAMOM ROSE LATTE | HOME OF SPICES

INGREDIENTS

Whole milk
2 cups
Instant Coffee powder
2 tsp (more or less as per your taste)
Cardamom Pods
3-4
Rose Petals
10-12
Sugar (Granulated)
2 tsp (more as per your taste)
Chocolate Powder (optional)
For topping

METHOD

  1. Take the milk in a saucepan. Add 3 opened cardamom pods and rose petals to it. If you want it slightly pink then you can also add a tsp of beetroot juice. (Optional) and bring to boil.
  2. Till then, take the coffee powder and granulated sugar in a mug.
  3. Add a 2 drops of water to this and start beating vigorously with a spoon. The coffee and sugar will start frothing and it will start turning paler in colour, textured more like a paste.
(Tip: The more amount of coffee powder and sugar there is, better is the texture. So making more than 1 cup of coffee at a time yields a better paste.)
  4. Now pour the milk to fill in 1/4 of the cup. Mix the milk with paste a little, ensure not to lose the froth.
  5. Now pour rest of the milk (from a little height to make the froth).
  6. Top with some rose petals, cardamom powder and chocolate powder.
The best ever Cardamom Rose Latte is ready in minutes. Have a great winter!
